Patterns

the first pattern. Click to biggify.

I’ve been getting into patterns a lot lately; the different ways to make them completely tilable, and the creative aspects of course.
The first one i did was a rip-off from an old broken pattern i found somewhere, which i thought looked so nice i drew the whole thing back up from scratch, with new colors.
At the time i was simultaniously working on a poster for UPOP, but i had not come up with any decent ideas yet. Then i figured, i should try putting their logo in there, see how it looked. And it was nice! So the first pattern became the poster, and at the party the poster was for, I put the pattern up on three projectors, to tile seamlessly across the entire venue. No decent photos of that, though.

UPOP; sketch vs final version

I made a poster for an event hosted by UPOP.no  this spring, thought i should share the results. I initially had loads of sketches, resulting in a mayhem of ideas. I finally went for a design based on photographing different objects i had lying around on my desk. Mind you that  it’s all in the shot; nothing, save color, was added in photoshop later.

New visuals for UPOP!

Just finished up a new visual for the renown local webmag UPOP.no, espescially for a party they are throwing next saturday. It’s based around the same basic concept as the last one, but this time more refined, more fancy, more everything. I think it’s gonna be my thing from now on, putting a glow effect on everything i do. It’s like reverb, but for video. And reverb is good!

Thanks to Sebastian for the soundtrack, please don’t sue me when people think i made that too. And yes, I am indeed playing at the party. Most certainly going to spin some Sebastian.
Please comment if you have likes/dislikes!

UPOPCAST is alive and good

I’ve been doing some writing for UPOP, a bloggish website for music/art/lifestyle stuff lately. And more importantly, I’ve been working towards getting a podcast running for them. The system has been in the works for some time now, and with the latest upgrade of their wordpress system, it’s right there! I also made the visual work around the project, represented by the graphic and the video you see here.

The podcast is gonna feature dj Mixes from all sorts of local djs, interviews with bands and such, and all sorts of other stuff you might catch on tape. Go have a look at UPOP.no and the UPOPCAST page, or just take my word that it rocks and subscribe right away. If you can’t figure it out, blame the tech guys, just not me.
